Observation of the rare species of Brown fish owl and Omani owl
According to the Iran Bird Records Committee, two rare owl species in Iran were recorded in the village of Pamenar, near Dez Dam in Khuzestan Province, on October 19th, 2019, by Hadi Amini, Ebrahim Shafizadeh, Jamshid Karimi Zadeh, Masoud Sasani and Afshin Mousazadeh.
The Brown fish owl, Ketupa zeylonensis, which has an inaccessible habitat is very interesting for the birdwatchers. This species is commonly observed in southeast of Asia and rarely in Europe (in some parts of Turkey).
